Will I receive compensation if I am denied boarding?
We care about our passengers, and if there is a denied boarding, we will compensate you for it. Every compensation will be reported at the airport.
At LATAM, we do everything we can to avoid denied boarding. For this reason, in our Flexible Traveler program, we look for volunteers in advance who want to change flights. In this case, passengers may receive an invitation to register as volunteers hours before departure, selecting compensation and an alternative flight.
If I am denied boarding, how will I know what my compensation will be?
In case your boarding is denied, compensation will be informed at the airport. Each compensation depends on the route, the time of delay to the destination and also the waiting time of the passenger.
Can I request a different compensation than what I am being offered?
Unfortunately not, as the compensation is calculated according to the route, the delay time to destination and also the passenger's waiting time.
However, at LATAM we reward your flexibility. When we start looking for volunteers and you sign up for our Flexible Traveler program, you can choose your compensation.
If I am denied boarding, can I choose the flight I will travel on?
At LATAM we take care to select the closest alternative, so that you arrive at your destination as soon as possible.
On certain occasions, we look for volunteers who are willing to change their flight and reward their flexibility. In this way, they can choose their compensation and an alternative flight, in our Flexible Traveler program.
